What does a Page Builder do? A page builder is used to easily drag and drop elements to design a web page. Pros of Using a Page Builder YOU are the designer of your page, meaning you don't have to hire a designer/developer to create pages for you, less cost? Umm.. probably. Cons of Using a Page Builder If you're into page speed or optimization then I wouldn't really recommend using a page builder, because in my opinion, you have to lessen the plugins that you need to use in your website in order for it to load faster. Plugins add their own styling and scripts - which sometimes you really don't need. UNLESS your server is really really fast and there is an option not to load some of the plugin's files. If you don't have time or patience to learn how to use these and just wanted to write or blog, then a page builder isn't for you. If you want more features or modules, then you'll need to pay, most of the page builders offers a yearly or monthly subscription for updates and support. WordPress Page Builder Plugins I've used: Elementor (Free and Premium) Free | Premium One thing I noticed, it's hard to use Elementor on an iPad. But I like how it's easy to change sizes depending on the responsive views. WPBakery (Premium) This is included in most premium themes, just make it's always updated or the theme developer offers free upgrades. SiteOrigin (Free and Premium) Free | Premium In my opinion, this one is light and it really works well with WPRocket and EWWW Image Optimization plugins. YOOtheme Pro (Premium) This is probably my favorite, it uses UIKit, it's very light, and good for optimization since it has its own image caching. It's a bit complicated to use, but once you get the hang of it, it provides great features to build a beautiful website. But doesn't WordPress have a built-in page builder? As of WordPress 5.9, the Twenty Twenty Two theme is a Block Theme that has Full Site Editing feature which allows the user to customize the header, footer and templates. Is it easy to use? Well, not much, or probably it's because I'm used to work on other pagebuilders. One thing's for sure, is that this is a light theme and you'll have a really fast site when you use the Twenty Twenty Two theme.
