I’ve been writing about WordPress hacks and tips, but never mentioned the basic, Installing WordPress the easy way.
In cPanel there are two ways to install WordPress:
Automated Installation
cPanel has its own WordPress installation feature, if you’re a beginner or at least doesn’t want to waste time on installation and start blogging, then this is definitely for you.
It takes less than 5 minutes to install WordPress and start using it.
Manual Installation
- Create a database and a user, make sure that the user has All Privileges when you add the database to the user. And also, make sure you have the database name, user and password in a note, because you will use these later when installing it.
- Download WordPress from https://wordpress.org/download/ and upload it to your server via File Manager or FTP. (Yeah you can also use SSH, but these two are the easiest ways.)
- Extract the zip file in File Manager, the files will be in the WordPress folder, so open the folder, select all files and move it to the folder that you want.
- Go to the url and you will see the installation page, like language selection, add database name, user & password and title.
